Ramco's ERP Applications (Rel 6)

Ramco is a leading organization in ERP Products. Ramco's ERP
Applications have been implemented in Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. since a
decade. Few years ago, Ramco released a newer version (Release 6) of
its ERP products. Surya Nepal is one of the last companies to shift to
newer version. Although, Ramco has released web based ERP, there are
lot of old companies which still use its desktop based ERP
applications.

There are a few changes made in its Rel 6 version compared to earlier
version 3.1. The changes can be summarized in following points.
1. A lot of changes in back end stored procedures have been made. Much
effort has been placed in direction of making process faster.
2. Search and replace facility in grid has been added.
3. An interesting facility added is facility to copy data from grid
(multiline) to excel and from excel to grid. This has much eased users
to work with applications.

Despite these changes, the basic logics of applications and process
have not been changed. It is obvious that new changes come with some
problems. Rel 6 also has got some problems. There are some problems in
basic functionalities. Also, copying of all customizations from old
ERP to new ERP is problematic. But, Ramco has got very good support
facility. Support for Rel 6 ERP applications is even better. Ramco has
decided not to upgrade desktop based ERP applications further. It has
put all its effort to web based ERP applications. It is up to future
how world organizations react to its web based ERP.
